JUNIOR HIGH ACTIVITIES 

Canyon Creek’s junior high ministry invites 6th, 7th and 8th graders to "check out" God. Activities emphasize fun and just hanging out with friends, but also provide opportunities to discover who God is and the difference He can make in everyday life. Like all youth ministries at Canyon Creek, our goal is to help students graduate from high school with an understanding that God loves them and desires to have a relationship with them.
 
The Sunday Saga — Sunday Mornings
Junior high worship and Bible study time takes place each Sunday during the 10:00 AM service. Students attend the first half of the adult service and then leave for their own program. By reading through the Bible and discussing different issues and topics, they expand their knowledge of how God applies to their lives. Visitors are always welcome. A Lobby Host will be happy to help you find the classroom and introduce you to the leader.

Currently we are working through a Student Life Bible Study, Character: Old Testament People - Encounters with God. Parents, if you would like to keep up with our weekly topics, the study is available through Amazon.com.

The Stronghold — Wednesday Nights
The Stronghold is all about building relationships with eachother and God. Students gather on Wednesday from 7:15 –9:00 p.m. during the school year for games, music and discussion. Each meeting includes a short talk on an issue that matters to young teens, followed by discussion in small groups. Bring a friend!

Quarterly Trips
Each quarter our junior high group takes a weekend trip or goes on an overnight event. These are opportunities for the students to grow closer in fellowship and have lots of fun. In the fall they go to Mount Hermon’s Redwood Camp Fall Frenzy Weekend. In the winter we have wild adventures skiing in the Sierra. In the summer we encourage our students to experience Mount Hermon’s Redwood Camp, Kidder Creek, or Whisper Canyon. Find more camp information at www.MountHermon.org.  

Special Events
From bowling to hiking to roller skating, to barbecues and swim parties, our junior high group loves to spend time together on weekends. Check the calendar for complete information of what’s coming up next.
