Shepherd’s Gate
Canyon Creek Church is proud to support Shepherd’s Gate. Since 1984, more than 8,000 battered and homeless women and children have found a safe haven from abusive relationships, addictions, loss of financial support and other factors at Shepherd’s Gate. The ministry operates two campuses: one in Livermore and one in Brentwood, as well as an international outreach in San Jose, Costa Rica. Shepherd’s Gate is supported entirely by private donations from individuals, businesses, churches, schools and civic organizations. Canyon Creek prepares dinner for the Livermore shelter once a month and supports other projects during the year. Please contact Debbie Cavin if you are interested in becoming involved in this ministry.
Valley Pregnancy Center
Canyon Creek supports the work of Valley Pregnancy Center by sponsoring a team of walkers in the annual Walk for Life each spring and filling a table at its “Celebration of Life” Gala in the fall. Several individuals also volunteer on a regular basis. The Center holds several training sessions each year for lay counselors and other volunteers. For more information on how you can get involved, contact Renee Olsen. A sister organization, Teen Esteem, sends speakers into local public schools. For more information, contact Travis Marsh.
World Vision Child Sponsorship
World Vision is a Christian relief and development organization
dedicated to helping children and their communities worldwide reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty. Motivated by faith in Jesus, World Vision is helping to transform the lives of the world’s poorest children and families by creating one-to-one relationships between poor children in developing countries and sponsors in the U.S. Through sponsorship gifts, these children benefit from direct assistance as well as improved living conditions in their communities. Canyon Creek families are currently sponsoring 31 children. To find out how you can sponsor a child, contact Marie Olson.
