MISSION TO MEXICO 2012

The 2009 Mission to Mexico TeamCanyon Creek Church sends a large group of students and adult leaders to Mexico during spring break to build homes for families. The 2012 trip is April 8-14.

Amor Ministries helps find the families, coordinates the land purchases, and provides building materials. However Canyon Creek high school youth organize the trip and each participant must raise the cost of the trip. The church works with Amor Ministries to address safety concerns.

There are many important steps to preparing, both for those going on the trip and those who are supporting the effort here at home. Participants must attend mandatory meetings on January 8 and 29, February 26 and March 25 at 2:30 PM in the Worship Center and take part in training. April 7 is packing day.

How You Can Get Involved
It takes the support of the whole church to make this outreach happen each year. During the weeks before the trip, the mission team staffs a table after church on Sunday to let everyone know how to help through fundraisers, loaning tools, and other important ways to take part. Be sure to stop by.

Youth and adult leaders work in teamsWork Days - March 3 and 17
Work days are a key fundraiser. Any Canyon Creek family can help students raise funds for the trip by hiring them to come do spring cleaning, gardening, yard clean up, window washing--you name it! It's a great way to polish off those jobs you have been putting off and support a really great cause.

Mission Trip Dinner - March 4
The entire congregation and community are invited to hear about the trip and send off our team will full support. Students prepare and serve the meal, tell us about what they will be doing, and provide childare.

Prayer Support
Our congregation prays for safety, great weather, good health, close fellowship among the students and leaders, and for participants to see God's will being done through their hands and hearts.

Making friendsUnloading Party - April 14
We need as many hands as we can get to help the crew returning from Mexico to unload, clean, and put away supplies and equipment. Nothing makes this hard-working crew happier than arriving in our parking lot and seeing wide-awake and full-of-energy people there to welcome them back and help them unload.

Share the Experience - April 22
There's always a Potluck Dessert after the team returns, to share stories and see pictures of the trip. Bring the whole Roof raised!family! Your younger students will begin counting the months until they are old enough to take part in this life-changing experience.
