More than 90 students and adult leaders will travel to Tijuana, Mexico, during Spring Break this year to build homes for families who are in desparate need of shelter.
Amor Ministries helps find the families, coordinates the land purchases and provides our building materials. However Canyon Creek high school youth organize the trip, and each one must raise approximately $700 in order to go.
This year's trip takes place March 23-29.
It takes the support of the entire congregation to make this trip happen each year. Here are important ways you can take part.
Join us at the Good Friday service to officially send our our Mexico team. The service is at 7:30 PM and will include Communion. The group will pack up on Saturday and leave for Mexico at 4 AM on Easter Sunday.
The team needs many hand tools to build homes in Mexico. This year it's easier than ever to see what's needed and sign up to lend or donate tools. Just click here and enter the tools that you can provide. The website is simple to use and will automatically notify the staff of each committment.
Pick up a Prayer Calendar from the church and pray for great weather, good health, close fellowship among the students and leaders, and for participants to feel God's will being done through their hands and hearts. If you would like to be assigned a specific person to pray for during the trip, please contact the church office.
We need a crew of people to meet our students and leaders when they return from Mexico and help to unload the vans and trucks, wash and put away utensils and coolers, etc. Please contact Dave Barry if you can help.
Come out to a Potluck Dessert on Sunday, April 6, to hear first-hand stories and see pictures of the trip. Bring the whole family! Your younger students will begin counting the months until they are old enough to take part in this life-changing experience.
